Cappuccino Chao Phraya

Without a doubt, the best coffee in Bangkok. No matter where it was, we'd be there. But the fact that it happens to have a riverside location with a view of the water and Bangkok's famous Wat Pho only adds to the appeal. Getting there is an adventure too, with the boat from Saphan Taksin pier being the most efficient form of transport. Get off at Pak Klong Talat and walk up past River Books, turn left towards the river and you're there. Take some reading material: you won't leave after one coffee.

Espana in Bangkok

For fans of tapas who find themselves in Bangkok, there’s only one possible place to go. Tapas CafĂ©: a criminally unimaginative name, but authentic offerings from the kitchen. The location is interesting, too: the back street ofSukhumvit Soi 11. Stop at Cheap Charlie’s for a beer or two, then take a place at one of the outdoor tables at Tapas to watch this part of the world go by while sipping on sangria and nibbling on gambas ajillo and patatas bravas.
